Workshop Description:
This workshop provides a forum for local officials to learn about emergency management and explore topics that impact emergency management in South Carolina. The workshop examines preparedness activities to set you up for success during a disaster, discusses various aspects of response operations during a disaster, and reviews recovery processes and procedures that will enable you to understand the federal grant programs following a disaster. This workshop is designed to cover executive-level issues in emergency management for senior and elected officials at the local level specifically county and municipal government. The expected outcome of this workshop is for participants to gain a foundation and an understanding of emergency management to help them when disasters occur.
Target Audience:
The target audience includes: County or City administrators, Directors of local response agencies, Chiefs of departments (fire, LE, EMS), Public Information Officers, college and university representatives, and school district superintendents.
