Recovery from Disaster: Local Community Role (G205)

G205, formerly G270.4, is designed for local government disaster recovery professionals. It covers the roles, responsbilities and major tasks of each team member during short term and long term recovery. The course includes discussion on the formation of a Recovery Task Force as well as recommendations regarding stakeholders, planning, and prioritizing post-disaster community needs.
The goals of this course are to:
  • Increase local government awareness of issues involved in disaster recovery.
  • Provide a forum for discussion of “lessons learned” in disaster recovery at the local level.
  • Promote the development of a pre-disaster recovery plan.
