Hurrevac is the National Hurricane Program’s the longtime, web-based hurricane decision support tool for government emergency managers. This comprehensive training will introduce emergency managers to advanced processes within HURREVAC. It will include an overview of the “Storm Simulator” tool where users can build their own scenario for planning and exercise purposes. Interactive exercises will be conducted to ensure students understand and are confident utilizing the full capabilities of this tool.
A high-speed internet connection is required. Students should complete the HURREVAC (HURR) course through LMS as a prerequisite of this course. Students should apply for HURREVAC accounts at http://www.hurrevac.com in advance of the class and bring their own laptop computers or tablets to class for hands-on exercises within the application. Google Chrome and Firefox are the preferred Internet browsers for accessing HURREVAC.
